About Us

The story began in 2011 when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer—a moment that filled me with fear, isolation, and helplessness. I didn’t know how to support her, but I knew I had to do something. Together with my friend and co-founder, Berma K. Autrey, we started Twirling for the Cure, determined to raise awareness and share the emotional reality of what families like mine were enduring. Sitting by my mother’s bedside, I realized I wasn’t alone; countless others were navigating the same heartbreaking uncertainty. Hearing stories of resilience from doctors, nurses, and families inspired me, igniting a passion for activism that continues to drive our mission. The purposefully twirling activism light had officially become lit.

Twirling to Fight Cancer was created with love and respect for those who are survivors and stood on the battlefield with their loved ones.

After the first five years, the name was changed to Twirling to Fight Cancer (T2FC), a global mission to celebrate the Survivors and help erase all cancers that have taken too many lives. Represented by our new lavender ribbon!

As Founder and President, I rebranded Twirling to Fight Cancer with love and respect for survivors and those who have stood by their loved ones on the battlefield. My goal was to inspire the twirling community I cherish by giving it a meaningful mission. Through its three pillars, this movement not only elevates the sport but also saves lives, uplifts fighters, and brings joy to those in the battle and those supporting them. It’s a vision rooted in purpose, impact, and hope.
